Description
Burning Embers Leptastrea are gorgeous, short tentacled, encrusting corals. They feature polyps that are tightly packed and irregularly shaped. Their colour is a rich, warm gold/orange and they have gold eyed tentacles. Leptastrea are unusual LPS corals. Given time, they will form spectacular glowing carpets and add variety to an aquascape.
These corals are easy to look after, however, different Leptastrea may favour slightly different parameters. Therefore, some experience may prove beneficial when starting out on Leptastrea. In general, avoid placing them indirect or strong light and currents. Start them off in moderate lighting and flow and adjust if necessary. Burning Embers Leptastrea can be target fed small foods, such as plankton.
