Description
The Harlequin Shrimp feeds almost exclusively on starfish and is especially useful in ridding your aquarium of the parasitic Asterina Starfish. It requires only one larger starfish per month to maintain proper health. When kept in aquariums with infestations of small starfish additional feeding is usually not required. It is very particular about its diet, eating only on echinoderms, primarily starfish, and a few urchins. It will eat starfish or Linckia, Fromia sp. Starfish may shed the arm but is often mortally wounded. You will want to supply the Harlequin Shrimp w starfish or Asterias rubens for adults and Linckia for juveniles. The adults may also eat sea urchins.
